Kim Delaney was an American actress from America. The actress is best known for her role as detective Diane Russell, in the ABC series NYPD Blue. For this she received the Emmy Award. Kim Delaney is known as the character Detective Diane Russell on ABC's NYPD Blue. She also appeared on the drama series All My Children Philly, CSI: Miami, and Army Wives. Delaney is the daughter of an executive from the United Auto Workers who was also an auntie. Delaney has four older brothers. In childhood, Delaney dreamed about becoming an official reporter for the court. She began modelling at the age of 14 and later landed commercials when she moved into New York. When she was a teenager the first time she appeared as an actress was in the soap opera All My Children. Delaney appeared in a number of films, television movies as well as dramas in the years since. In contrast to her career success, her private life isn't as happy and prosperous. The talented actress has had to deal with alcoholism throughout her life as well as two marriages that failed. She lost custody of her son in 2005.
