Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, also known as Ari Lennox, a Washington, D.C.-based American singer/songwriter, was signed as the label's debut female singer with Dreamville Records by J. Cole. The first album she released with the label on October 21 2016 titled Pho where she gained fame. Shea Butter Baby her debut album was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox released her songs online in 2012, when she dropped her Five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. In 2014, Ari Lennox dropped her single Bound along with her mixtape, which she released herself, Five Finger Discount. The 21st day of July, 2015, Omen featured her on Elephant Eyes the track Sweat It Out. J. Cole was interested in her talents and was keen to use it in conjunction with Rihanna. On the 8th of December, it was announced that she was signed to Dreamville Records. Backseat was a track was written by her and Cozz for the collaborative album Revenge of the Dreamers II. The 21st of October, 2016, her Pho EP was released. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as being an opener on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. She was supported by EarthGang. In 2018, Ari Lennox performed on two tracks with EarthGang, on Nothing but the Best, and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single from Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on 16 July 2018. A music video then released in September. The second single she released was Grampa on November 9. She then released on the 13th of November, two brand new singles called One and Pedigree. One and pedigree. Shea Butter Baby was released in her debut single February 26, 2019, to accompany the album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby appeared along with Cole on her Creed II sound track on November 16. The 20th of February, 2019 a music video was released to promote the song. It already has over three million hits on YouTube within its debut week. She was part of 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour at the end of December 2018.
